Upcoming meetings parish council Monday 12 September 2016 Monday 10 October 2016 Monday 14 November 2016 Monday 12 December 2016 The regular meetings will be held in the Committee Room – Village Hall, starting at 19.30 hours. See what's on the council's agenda. More information about the parish council. News from the parish council July 2016 Staplegrove Development - A further meeting has been held with James Turner of PM Asset Management, promoters of the Staplegrove East outline application. He assured the chairman there were no plans to develop the most northerly area on the outline application, which runs almost up to Dodhill, it was to be left as green space. The applicants do not plan to underground the high voltage overhead cables running across that area. However, they do intend to put the most southerly overhead cables underground. PMAM have had discussions with Sustrans regarding provision of a dedicated cycle path through the development from Dodhill to Corkscrew Lane rather than cyclists having the use estate roads. It now seems unlikely the outline application will be considered by Taunton Deane planning committee before October/November. The Parish Council will continue to press for the proposed spine road, connecting Kingston Road to Staplegrove Road, to be constructed before any homes are built. Footpaths – Somerset County Council has confirmed it will replace at least two of the stiles on the footpath between Church Lane and Volis Hill, with kissing gates. But cannot give a date for the work because staff are extremely busy. Planning – The council raised no objections to the following applications: Replacement dwelling at The Willows, Lodes Lane, Kingston Conversion of part of garage to holiday let accommodation at Larkhill, Nailsbourne Change of use of agricultural field to domestic garden and construction of a tennis court and associated fencing at Barton House, Kingston.
